We have a winner! Congratulations to Gerry Higgins in our 2016 Last Man Standing competition. For the last weekend of the competition they had to predict the winner of each of the football league finals as follows: Division 1: Dublin v Kerry, Division 2: Tyrone v Cavan, Division 3: Kildare v Clare and Division 4: Antrim v Louth. Gerry won our competition after going to the tie breaker based on the score between Dublin and Kerry. He had predicted 3 out of the 4 winners of the league finals as had Kieran Costello. However, Gerry's predicted score of 21 points to 14 in favour of Dublin was closer to the actual score of 24 points to 13 than Kieran's predicted score of 17 points to 14.
Thanks to everyone who entered our competition.

St. Patrick's GAA Club Notes – 10th August 2015

Senior Teams

Both our Senior teams were in action this week. The Ladies took on Tinahely in their last group game of the championship on Friday evening. It was obvious that a good but tough game was in store and that was shown at half-time when the ladies were only down by a point, 6 points to 5. Tinahely got a few early scores in the second half extending their lead, just edging out the girls. The game ended 16 points to 9 in favour of Tinahely but the St Pat's ladies played a good game overall.

The Senior Men were then in action on Sunday in Dunbur, with a Div 1 League game against Blessington. Both teams were level at half time, 0-10 to 2-04, but the lads kept pushing on and after 12 minutes into the second half they led 1-14 to 2-7. They then scored another two goals before the final whistle, with the match ending 3-16 to 2-10 in favour of St. Pat's. It was another great victory for the lads. A big thank you to Bash Barry who sponsored the team with new tops.

Well done to our Senior captain Daragh McEvoy who played in the Charity GAA match this weekend. He played with St. Luke's and scored the winning goal.

Juvenile

A double header took place in Dunbur on Wednesday evening in horrible conditions. The U14 girls had a league game against AGB and won 3-07 to 3-02 retaining the league cup, congratulations to all involved. Then Eddie Leonard's Minor team played next in a championship game against St. Kevin's. They too grabbed a great victory, winning 5-09 to 2-10.

The showers just about held off for the U8 hurlers on Tuesday evening, and you could see all the hard work paying off from the previous week's Cúl Camps. This week's Hurlers of the Week were U8 Callum Hodgkinson and U7 Senan Shorthall.

St. Pat's U8 girls were in action on Saturday at a blitz in Bray Emmets. The girls finished with 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss in three very competitive matches against Newtown, An Tochar and Bray Emmets. Well done to all the girls involved: Maeve, Amy, Emma, Niamh, Kella, Katie, Emily (who was playing in her first blitz), Caoimhe and Sophie. Training continues on Saturday mornings in Dunbur @ 11am.
